Fifty Pounds Gin Cocktail

Like all great drinks, the Negroni is open to adaptation but the classic is, simply, a classic.

As with so many cocktails, its origins are somewhat muddy.  Perhaps the most reported tale involves an Italian Count named Negroni who, legend has it, appeared in rodeos in the USA. Returning to Italy in the early 20th century, it’s said he requested a drink like an Americano – but featuring more alcohol. They replaced the soda water with gin and the rest is a bitter sweet history..
