Fifty Pounds Gin cocktails Gin Cocktails Tea Cocktails Earl Grey cocktails

I was thinking of how I could combine three beautiful elements, the Martini, Tea and a Gin, Tonic into one drink.  So I stirred up some Gin and Dry Vermouth with an earl Grey syrup (recipe below) and topped it with a regular Indian Tonic.  It might’ve been my first, but will definitely won’t be my last!

The Recipe

Serving: 1

Ingredients

  • 50ml Gin
  • 10ml Dry Vermouth
  • 10ml Earl Grey Tea Syrup**
  • Tonic

How to make or shake it

Add first three ingredients to a glass with plenty of ice and stir

Add a bit more ice and top with both Tonic

Garnish with lemon wedge and (possibly) some cranberries

** Boil water and make Earl Grey Tea.  When the tea is ready, get rid of the tea bag/leaves.  Add an equal part sugar and leave it to simmer until all sugar has dissolved, gently stirring during the process.  When all sugar is dissolved, leave to simmer for just a couple of minutes.  Pour in a bottle and leave to cool and once ready, optionally add a bar spoon of vodka to preserve.  Shake and put it in the fridge.  It will last several weeks.
