Festive cocktails Cranberry Smash Fifty Pounds Gin cocktails

The original Bramble is a fantastic tipple created by Dick Bradsell, one of the UK’s most legendary bartenders. Switching up blackberries for Cranberries adds to the spirit of the season, while still respecting his legacy!

The Recipe

Serving: 1

Ingredients

  •  60ml Gin
  •  25ml Lemon
  •  10 + 10ml Cranberry Syrup*

How to make or shake it

Shake Gin, Lemon Juice and first half of the Cranberry syrup with plenty of ice for 10-15 seconds.

Double strain in a glass filled with crushed ice.

Top with more crushed ice if necessary and slowly add the second half of the cranberry syrup for effect.

Garnish accordingly (with e.g. cranberries or a sprig of rosemary).

* Add equal parts sugar and water to a pan and turn on, stir till sugar is dissolved. Add the cranberries and let sit, waiting for the fruit to soften and infuse. When it has the desired thickness and sweetness, strain through a cheesecloth. Leave to cool in an opened bottle andonce ready, optionally add a barspoon of vodka to preserve. Close, give a solid shake and put it in the fridge. It will last several weeks.

Don’t throw away the leftovers from making the syrup, use them as a side in one of your holiday dishes!
